New Year 2020: A Piece of Advice for My Fellow Youngsters

Whether or not you’re celebrating the New Year, a piece of advice should be given to us for our bright future. A year is equivalent to 12 months/365 days or 52 weeks. There’s a lot you can do if you budget it out and plan what you want to achieve in these 12 months. So, what do you really want? Admission, money, job, skills, knowledge, business, marriage, or something else? It doesn’t matter whatever you want to achieve as long as you can persist. As youngsters, we shall not be wasting our time and all the resources we have on nothing. We must find something that will benefit us whatever, or however, it is. Catherine Cook of MyYearBook said “To any entrepreneur: if you want to do it, do it now. If you don’t, you’re going to regret it.” Don't say next year, next month, or even tomorrow; start it now. So let’s see what to do:
1. Find a pen and a book and write all your plans down
2. Create a lucrative idea - imagine anything (thinking about solving peoples' problems)
3. Make a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunity, and Threats) for the business you wish to do before you start
4.  Start an action – make your ideas come to existence by implementing them physically
5. Work hard and be persistent - PHT (Persistence, Hardwork, and Time) are required.
Scott Belsky said “It’s not about ideas, it’s about making ideas happen”

There are some thinkers that used to spend a year thinking about how to implement a new business idea. But this information era came with simple ways to make decisions on anything you wish to do. Whatever idea you think of making it happen, try to analyze it using this SWOT analysis system to figure out its impacts and weaknesses.

Secondly, ponder all the mistakes you made and failures you had last year, and then find some solutions on how to escape them this year whether in your business, academic system, and others. It is said that “a mistake is not really a mistake until that mistake is repeated.”
If you’re already into business or skills acquisition you can definitely make a triumph in these 365 days. Learn how to expand your business, consult entrepreneurs, read their histories to learn from them to avoid their mistakes, and follow their right footsteps wisely.
In the world we live today, as long as you can do something, you can’t weep or beg people for alms, you too can make yours. This is one of the great benefits of acquiring a skill – being self-reliant. And the very advice here is to devote your time to be specialized in multiple skills. It’ll give you the opportunity to make yours even if no one stands for you.

At last, note that hard work without persistence is a complete waste of time. You must be persistent in order to achieve anything. And, I’ll repeat saying this: “Dream is hallucination. Only actions make it a reality” – Mohiddeen Ahmad. Nothing come to existence without action. If you can persist to drive your ideas to come to existence and take action on them you can achieve a lot.

I pray you should have successful entrepreneurship or academic journey.
