1955: The Geniuses’ Departure and the Arrival of a Hero

 

...the death of a genius is a great loss for a nation or an entire planet.

I made write-ups about the world’s famous scientists such as Galileo, Bn Hayyan, Ibn Sina, Einstein, Hawking, Ibn Firnas, and Tesla; richest people like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Dangote, Zuckerberg, Jack Ma, Mike Adenuga, Larry Page; young entrepreneurs such as Aminu Bakori, Mubarak Muyika, Shola Akinlade, Evan Spiegel among other world pioneers.

But today, I want to touch the stories of three prominent heroes who have issues with the year 1955; the death of Alhassan Dantata and Albert Einstein and the birth of a superstar in the business world, Steve Jobs.

Alhassan Dantata

Alhassan Dantata was one of the greatest entrepreneurs in the Hausaland. Being the richest person in West Africa was one of the reasons for his fame. He was the grandfather of Aliko Dangote, owner of Dangote Group and the richest person in Africa. Dantata died in 1955 in Kano city. 

  

Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein, someone I admire as my #1 favourite scientist, was one of the greatest geniuses of all time. It was like, “he came, he saw, and he conquered the world of physics.”After 76 years of breathing on this planet, Einstein kicked the bucket in 1955. 

 

Steve Jobs

Meanwhile, the head of the matter, the game changer and winner of the play, Steve Jobs, was the great mind the world of business has ever seen. Having written immensely about him, I find it interestedly to continue writing for him, as I missed giving him a eulogy at the time of his death.

To know more about him, I recommend you to read my piece, “Watch, Read and Learn: The Untold Story of Steve Jobs”, where I discussed his family, struggles and successes from the year he was born, 1955, to the year he passed away, 2011.

Steve died in 2011 at 56 after sickness overpowered him. But his words have influenced and inspired many minds. His most popular appearance was in 2005 when he was invited as a guest speaker at Harvard University. His speech has inspired thousands of minds and still counting. 

His famous inspirational quotes are:

1. Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life

2. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life

3. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose

On his deathbed, he said “I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others’ eyes, my life is the epitome of success. At this moment, lying on the sickbed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.” 

These heart-touching words have inspired thousands of minds.
